Architectural Materials

There are some typical materials used in architecture. Let see some of them!

Wood is a good insulator. You can make a house only with wood. The inconvenient is that it is flammable.
Ceramics are clean and easy to clean. Perfect for toilets and kitchens.
Concrete can be used for making beams and it is made of cement, sand and water. We can use concrete to make a very strong structure. It is very hard.
Clay is used for bricks and it is a good insulator. It is used for making walls. Tiles are also made of clay. They are impermeable and don't let the water pass.
Plastic can be used as an electrical insulator or for pipes. It is impermeable.
Copper can be used for pipes. It is impermeable and hard. Spouts are made of copper.
Glass can be used for windows so we can use the light from the outside and save energy. It is transparent.
Silicon is a chemical element with the symbol Si and atomic number 14. It is a hard, brittle crystalline solid with a blue-grey metallic luster. It is used in solar panels.
