Something terrible has happened! Today we went on an ........................ (3) in the snow buggy. We were going to the Arctic sea, when Felix asked me, 'Have you ever seen an Arctic hare?' 'No, I haven't,' I said. He told us he could see some hares, so we got out of the buggy to watch them.
One hare run behind some trees and I followed it, because I wanted to take a photo. But when I came back the group and Felix weren't there! Now I'm sitting on my .......................... P.S. I didn't even get a photograph of that hare!
Still day 3
Oh, dear! Where are Felix and the group? It's very ................. (5)! I've never been this cold before! I'm in my tent now, but it's very windy. In fact it's very, very, very windy...

English articles
Read the following and then do the exercise!
A/an and the are articles. They are a type of determiner and they go before a noun.
A/an before a noun shows that what is referred to is not already known to the speaker, listener, writer and/or reader (it is the indefinite article):
Do you have a car?
A: Do you live in a house?
B: No, actually, I live in an apartment.
The before a noun shows that what is referred to is already known to the speaker, listener, writer and/or reader (it is the definite article):
Where did we park the car? (The speaker and the listener know what car is being referred to.)
We had to paint the apartment before we sold it. (The speaker and the listener know what apartment is being referred to.)
The makes a noun specific.
Now try the following exercise: click here.
Closet = armario
Vacuum cleaner = la aspiradora

Google Classroom 5ΒΊB
The code is private so you can find it in Milton, send me an email and I'll send it to you or ask another student or parent from your class. It's the same for all the class. One for 5ΒΊA and another one for 5ΒΊB.
One thing that I will appreciate is that you use your name in Google Classroom so I can identify the student quickly. For that you can follow this tutorial:
Also please, write your name at the end of every work you give back to me. Thanks!!!

This is a series that I reccomend you to watch.
Lost in Space is an American science fiction television series and is a reimagining of the 1965 series of the same name (itself a reimagining of the 1812 novel The Swiss Family Robinson), following the adventures of a family of space colonists whose spaceship veers off course.

Translucent Effect (Experiment)
Good morning! Here is a cool experiment. Materials you need:
Procedure
1. Cut a piece of thread and stick it to the paper. Hang the paper to the ceiling in front of a wall (if it's dark better) and leave it there 15 cm aprox from the paper to the wall.
2. Light the paper with the torch and observe how light can pass to the other side. Write this on your notebook. Can light pass to the other side and hit the wall?
3. Using the straw, put some oil on the paper. Be careful and don't drop it to the floor. Half of the paper should be covered with oil. The oil will be absorved and it will spread along the paper. In the end the lower half of the paper should have oil.
4. Light the paper over the oil part. Compare with the other part.
Write your conclusions about this. Why does this happen? Have you seen something not normal?
Enjoy! ππ
Explanation:
Only opaque objects, by blocking light rays, form shadows. Paper is not opaque. It is translucent. The paper blocks much of the light rays. The oil, by penetrating into the fibers of the paper, creates small transparent cracks that let light through. This is not the case with water, which cannot easily penetrate between the common paper fibers.
Watch the video:
- A sheet of white paper
- Oil
- A straw
- A torch or some source of light
- Thread
- Scissors
- Sellotape
- A dark room or place in the house
- A member of your family can help
- Notebook

Light
What Is Light?
Annie's family was having a bonfire last weekend. It was getting dark outside, so she stayed near the bonfire. But that made her curious: How do bonfires create light much like the Sun does? So, Annie asked her dad.
He explained that, like the bonfire, the sun burns gasses to emit (or give off) light. However, the sun burns different types of gasses, which explains why the sun gives off a different color of light than the bonfire.
While they use different types of gasses, there is one main reason that both emit light: the burning of gasses causes a chemical reaction that creates electromagnetic energy, which is a type of energy that takes the form of magnetic and electrical waves.
In physics, waves are the invisible vibrations that affect objects and even space to create light, color and more. The electromagnetic energy created from the burning gasses is what makes light.
But there's much more to be learned about light. In fact, light has different behaviours depending on the type of object that it hits. It can be reflected, refracted, absorbed or transmitted.
Light has three main properties: it is an electromagnetic wave, it travels in straight lines and it moves very fast. Light travels at the speed of light which is the fastest speed possible in the universe. That is 300.000 km per second!
Watch this video and write the most important ideas in your notebook.
Then make a comment telling me what aspect of light you like most and why.
Enjoy!

The Old Maid
I'm sure you remember this game! Read the instructions and play with your family! Do you have cards at home? I hope yes!
Old Maid is a constant favorite with children and lots of fun for families playing cards together. Colorful decks made especially for the game are popular, but regardless of the playing cards used, the rules are the same.
This game only requires a standard deck of cards and 2 to 8 players. Players try to get rid of all the cards in their hand before their opponent does by drawing from their opponent’s hand and discarding pairs. The player left with the “Maid” loses.
The Pack
The standard 52-card pack is used, however, one of the four queens is removed, leaving a total of 51 cards.
Object of the Game
The goal is to form and discard pairs of cards, and not to be left with the odd card (a queen) at the end.
The Deal
Any player shuffles the pack and deals them around, one at a time to each player, until all the cards have been handed out. Players do not need to have an equal number of cards.
The Play
Each player removes all pairs from his hand face down. If a player has three-of-a-kind, they remove only two of those three cards. The dealer then offers their hand, spread out face down, to the player on the left, who draws one card from it.
This player discards any pair that may have been formed by the drawn card. The player then offers their own hand to the player on their left.
Play proceeds in this way until all cards have been paired except one - the odd queen, which cannot be paired - and the player who has that card is the Old Maid!
Change the game
See how the game changes if you decide the winner is the person left with the Old Maid. Call the Old Maid something more appealing like the superhero, the princess, the great king, the old king or the secret spy using a Joker.
