Cooperative virtual learning

Hello, today we are going to do something new. Follow this instructions.

Make a group with some other students from your class. This is flexible, you can make the groups bigger or smaller.

Once you have the group you must do a project as a team. You can use video conference, phone or email. The project title is lightnings.

It must have one page.
Add some basic information.
Photos.
Pictures...
data...
be creative.

Upload it on google classroom with the name of the team. Imagine you are a team of 4 members. You upload the same project with your names in your profile so every member uploads the project.

If you cannot work with another student do it alone. But try to do it with others. People should be open to work with anybody.

Electricity (part 2)

We already saw some concepts and experiments about electricity. We saw how to make a magnet and also making a battery from a cola can. Let's remember the following:

Electricity is a form of energy. It happens when electrons move from one atom to another. For that you must understand what is an atom. You can find that information here.

There are two types of electricity: static and current.





Here is a video about static electricity.


The task today is to explain what is the difference between static electricity and current electricity. Give me some examples. Think about it and write it on your notebook. Then go to google classroom and upload the task.

Making a battery from a cola can

In this video you will se that you can make a battery from a cola can just using coins!

It's amazing!! The accent is very difficult but if you listen carefully you will understand.

The video starts like this:

In this quick video on "go repairs", I'm going to show you how to make a battery from a cola can and a penny. First off we need to empty the can, so put the contents into a cup and put to one side as we'll be using that later...

cola can = lata de cola

Do you want to understand how the can and the coin are able to make electricity?

Here is a short explanation:

 A battery is made of two metals and an electrolyte. An electrolyte is a liquid that conducts electricity. The cola is a not very good conductor so that's why he adds salt (which dissolved in water is a great conductor). Therefore we have copper (the coin), aluminium (the can) and an electrolyte (the cola with salt). The electrolyte produces that electrons move from one metal to another and so we have electricity

Unit 6 Natural Electricity

We start today a new unit. It's about electricity.

Electricity is used every day for many things. It is fundamental and without it we will have lots of problems like having no light at home.

Electricity is the movement of electrons from one atom to another.
