Reading Activity

Today we have to finish the reading activity about "The best films of all time" in Milton Education.


It's a very interesting reading. It's also a listening. So, today we are going to focus on the first two films: Citizen Kane and Vertigo. Two classic masterpieces of filmmaking. Here are the traillers:




I will extend the activity on Milton Education a few days more until next Monday so we have time to see this together. Please leave a comment and answer these three questions:

    Hi Simon a flashback is a technique used in film or television that consists of the person being aware that what he explains is not real and the thriller is it a summary of the film to know what will happen in it.I don´t like these kinds of movies very much because they don´t have the sound or the image like the ones of today.

    Hi a flahsback is:

    Flashbacks are used in literature and cinema this consist that in the middle of the flim the actor remember something that happend in the past.

    A thriller is:

    A type of flim that when you are seeing the flim you are nervous are you have tension in your body

    It would like as:

      The answers are very well explained and correct, even though, I don't understand the last part... maybe you mean "a new experience". Yes, films have changed a lot and the images, special effects, lights or sounds are of a much better quality and speed.

      It's true I forgot!

      What is a flashback?
      It's a moment when the film or novel remembers somethig from the past.


      What is a thriller?
      It's a story with action, suspense and sometimes terror.

      Do you think you would like these films? why?
      I think I would like it, but I prefer the series and short films because I tire if they are too long

    Hi Simón. I'm Ainara Gómez.
    Flashback is a technique used in cinema, TV and literature, where different moments are connected and action is transfered to the past. For example, when an actor remembers something that happened to him in the past and goes back in the time of the narration.
    Thriller is used in literary genre and TV. It is based on generating curiosity and nervousness in the reader or spectator to know what will happen next.

    I think I would like both, but more the thriller since flashback is a little trickier.

    A flashback in a movie might show what happened when a character was younger.Flashbacks are often used for comedic effect,to prove or contradict something in the present.
    A thriller is a novel,play,or film with an exiting plot,typically involving crime or espionage.
    I think I wouldn't like to watch this films because I prefer to see adventure films.Have a nice and sunny day.

    Narrative technique used in cinema and literature that consists of inserting in the linear development of the action sequences referring to a past time.A thriller is a Thriller or mystery film or novel, which causes a strong emotional tension in the viewer or reader.I think that i don´t like to saw this films because are so old.

    A thriller is a mystery film.
    I think I wouldn't like the films because I don't like serious movies, I like comedies.
