Our Natural World

The goals of unit 4 in Global Scholars are the following:


  • Learn about the benefits of biodiversity. 
  • Share your opinion about the most important benefit of biodiversity in your city.
  • Analyze how human actions impact biodiversity. 
  • Identify solutions to address climate change and global biodiversity issues. 
  • Learn about biodiversity issues and solutions in your city.
  • Explain your ideas to your peers and support your ideas with facts. 
  • Know the difference between fact and opinion. 
  • Survey members of your community to learn which biodiversity issues are most important to them, and the actions they would be willing to take to improve biodiversity issues.
  • Create an infographic to share what you learned from your community.

You can find this if you log in Global Scholars. 


You have to go to unit 4 first. Read the goals and watch the videos as you can see on the image above.

    Simón, I don't quité understand What todo dos in the ecosystem table , can You explain it to Me please?

      Yes Carla of course! 😀 First of all read the pdf and watch the videos, then look at the column on the left. You must understand what it means. For example, over-consumption is consuming too many things, like food or meat or gas or cars, anything. What effect has that on the planet? on global biodiversity? If we say global biodiversity is like saying The Earth. 😉

      Then you can investigate. Google "effects of over-consumption" and find articles. Take a look at them to learn aboit this issue. For example, over-consumption can destroy ecosystems or can extinguish some species like it is happening now.

      Then apply the same logic to your city. For example, if we consume too many things in our cities there will be more garbage.

      The last part will be focused on solutions. What can we do? Is it a problem of consumption? Shall we put limits legally? Could we make a special TV programme about this? ...

      Here is an example of an article, there are thousands of them. Have a look at some of them to study the problem. Don't believe everything that they tell you because in some articles people give their opinion rather than giving just facts but that's normal.
